Star Wars Weekend

This year we were able to visit Hollywood Studios during their annual Star Wars week. Luke and the girls were excited to see the characters from the movies. The kids dressed up as Luke Leia and Padme Amidala for Halloween but it was way too hot to dress up for this event. We thought a lot of people would be dressed up but we only saw a handful. They should really do it during the winter. I'm sure some people would go crazy dressing up. The coolest part of the day was the Motorcade with marching storm troopers, Jedi Mickey, Princess Leia Minnie and various Star Wars characters.

The guy in the black shirt and jean shorts was the real Darth Mal actor. The guy in the wheelchair is the real Chewbacca actor.

This was at the Jedi training center. The kids can train to be a Jedi then practice their skills with Darth Vader. Luke and Savannah have finally built up the courage to try it out next time.

We waited in line to see R2D2 and C3PO but when we were about 4 people away they switched characters on us and Luke and Leia came out. Kind of a disappointment but at least the girls enjoyed visiting with Leia.
C3Po did come and say hello to us before he went for a break so that was cool.


They had a ton of fun Star wars items for sale. If we lived somewhere cold I think Luke might have wanted this hat.

Ahh to be a kid !

Yesterday was a day to recover from a long but very fun weekend. Started the day off lazy and catching up on chores, before we knew it the afternoon snuck up on us. Of course along came the notorious afternoon showers too. Cooped up inside, Savannah decided that all she wanted to do was go splash in the puddles. So we did!

Bear with me I am still catching up on the blog and this post will be out of order from the next few posts from the last month(Star wars weekend, Days of summer, Brian and family visit, Fourth of july, Shuttle Launch... Yeah I know maybe we should stop doing stuff so I can catch up:)

For those that know how Lily is about getting her clothes wet this is her version of splashing in puddles. I am actually surprised she even participated.

Luke of course was the most rambunctious and therefore the got the most wet.

Then they wanted to use there bikes and scooters the make splashes...

Savannah thought it would be cool if they would pretend like they were going to crash but then break away. They did their best to satisfy her expectations.

Preschool Graduation

I wasn't really sure what to call it preschool graduation or end of year celebration. None the less Luke and Lily will be starting Kindergarten next year and I just can't believe it. Where has time gone? It seems like yesterday Savannah was in kindergarten. The kids enjoyed their class and teachers this past year and have grown so much. For the celebration they sang a couple of songs and even performed a number with drumsticks before receiving their certificates. I will cherish this year and next years' celebrations filled with songs and poems.

Dance Recital 2011

This past year Savannah has been participating in a hip hop/jazz dance class and Lily in a ballet and tap class. Lily was particularly anxious for the show. She loves the costumes and make up and being in the spotlight. Did I mention the make up? Finally it's time for the long awaited dance recital. The girls did a great job and had such a fun time on the stage. We were grateful Aunt Jennifer, Grandma and Grandpa were able to attend their special day.

Ballet recital to the Tangled song I see the light. Mrs. Donna always picks the cutest songs and costumes. She's the best.

So glad Grandpa and Grandma made it. Grandpa was a trooper sitting for 3 hours but i think he thought it was well worth it to see the girls dance. He and Aaron cheered them on!

I think I over did it with Lily's make up but oh well she doesn't get that but once a year :) She definitely loves the attention

Spoiled with flowers from their family. Good thing Luke didn't care much that he wasn't in the spotlight. He did say that the recital was "lame" (his new word) cracks me up.
